The NCCR Climate is strongly dedicated to promoting the next generation of scientists. Using multimedia and the Internet as teaching materials, we are already stirring the interest in climate research at the high school level. The focus in fostering young talents is on the training of PhD students. Today, former NCCR PhD students are pursuing academic careers, are active in the financial and energy sectors, hold administrative positions or work for consulting firms. Moreover, by promoting scientific talent, the NCCR Climate has established itself on an international level. By taking part in the annual NCCR Climate Summer School, young researchers gain from exchanges with renowned climate scientists from around the world. The NCCR Climate also initiated the creation of Master's courses in climate sciences at both the ETH Zurich and the University of Bern.
